Amesiella monticola - Growing a new leaf, new root, and something pushing its way out that could be a spike (?).

Bletilla striata- Still green but will be hit by frost soon.

Brassia New Start- Progressing on four growths. Some ugly spots appearing on new growth. Lots of roots growing.

Brassocatanthe Little Mermaid 'Janet'- In bloom with four flowers, not fragrant (yet?), one bud seems loose at the base, opening prematurely.

Bulbophyllum echinolabium- Working on three new growths, not sure if they are leaves or spikes.

Bulbophyllum Lovely Elizabeth- Aborted a spike on a completed growth, now beginning a new pseudobulb.

Bulbophyllum medusae- Many spikes growing, as many as 15, although some may not develop.

Bulbophyllum rufinum- Two new growths, at least one appears to be a spike.

Cattleya rex seedlings- The largest looks to be two growths away from possibly flowering.

Cypripedium Anna- Has been transplanted to near the house, in the fern bed.

Maxillariella tenuifolia- In a darker, cooler spot, where it will have a bit drier winter. Looking to get rid of this one.

Mormodia Jumbo World- Infested with mites. Washed leaves and applied oil/soap mixture. Must watch surrounding plants for infestation.

Oncidium maculatum- Newest bulb completed and larger than last years. Hoping for two spikes.

Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Velvet Maroon' - Two spikes with buds getting ready to open.

Oncidium Speckled Spire 'Wisp'- Struggling after being repotted. All pseudobulbs shriveled, but new growth is developing and putting out new roots.

Paphiopedilum Annabellchen 'Highjack' AM/AOS- Appears poised and ready to send up a bud any day now.

Paphiopedilum callosum- Growing slowly, just a seedling.

Paphiopedilum gratrixianum- Growth has slowed, looking for a new growth in the spring.

Paphiopedilum Hisae's Royal Duck- Growing slowly. Leaves have some pitting.

Paphiopedilum Kolosand x Angel Hair- Slow growth.

Paphiopedilum Magic Lantern- Slow growth but appears to be completing current fan.

Paphiopedilum Michael Koopowitz- Slow growth.

Paphiopedilum Odette's Vision- Became infected with bacterial rot and had to be separated with a budding growth removed. Now two plants.

Paphiopedilum Prime Child- Growing well. Do not anticipate bloom next spring.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum- Stable and slow growing.

Paphiopedilum villosum- Newest leaves look adult. Looking for new fan to develop in spring.

Phalaenopsis [unknown miniature] "#8"- Cannot seem to hold on to more than three leaves although root growth seems good. New growth emerging from base, could be keiki or spike, not sure.

Phragmipedium Grande- - Working on two new growths, not sure if one will bloom next summer.

Stanhopea oculata - Growing lots of new fat roots.

Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata- Lots of roots and new growths.

Vanda Jiraprapa x V. Thierry Giorncel- Relaxing in a plastic pot for the winter.

Vanda Kulwadee Fragrance 'Muke Pat'- CymMV+, kept in a terracotta pot

Vanda [Pachara Delight?] Enormous with 12 spikes, hanging like a chandelier in the sunroom

Vanda [unknown] "Steve"- Sitting in a terracotta pot for winter

Zygopetalum Bright Imagination 'Master Ian'- This spring's new growth completed, a new growth several inches tall, root growth observed. Maybe this newest growth will bloom. This plant won't go outside next summer - the heat seems to stall growth.

Complete Orchid Collection Update - September 2015

Amesiella monticola - Growing a new leaf. Previous new leaf mostly eaten by bug.

Bletilla striata - Outdoor growing orchids. No seed pods produced, but growth has been good.

Brassia New Start - Vigorously growing four new growths. Lots of new roots. Seems to be adjusting to lava rock without major problems.

Brassocatanthe Little Mermaid 'Janet' - buds in sheath swelling and looking to emerge soon.

Bulbophyllum echinolabium - pushing two new growths or spikes, still undetermined.

Bulbophyllum Lovely Elizabeth - One spike growing, about 2 cm in length

Bulbophyllum medusae - ten spikes identified, swelling, 1.5 cm in length

Bulbophyllum rufinum - no spikes identified

Cattleya rex seedlings - summer pseudobulbs completed, new roots sprouting and eyes swelling for new pseudobulbs. Pests have eaten a previous flush of new roots.

Cypripedium Anna - next year's eye spotted, although this year's growth is dry and black.

Maxillariella tenuifolia - pushing one or two new pseudobulbs per growth. Expected to double in size.

Mormodia Jumbo World - This year's growth beginning to yellow from the lower leaves. Pseudobulbs swelling.

Oncidium maculatum - newest pseudobulb mostly emerged, swelling. This growth is larger than last year's.

Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Velvet Maroon' - Growing two spikes, one new pseudobulb approaching maturity with spike(s) expected, and two new growths.

Oncidium Speckled Spire 'Wisp' - in bloom, with one new growth. Recently repotted into plastic pot with lava rock.

Paphiopedilum Annabellchen 'Highjack' AM/AOS - two fans that appear to be approaching maturity. Buds expected within the next few months.

Paphiopedilum callosum - seedling. Leaves very pale, not much growth noted since obtaining the plant in July.

Paphiopedilum gratrixianum - fan appears to be approaching maturity. one last leaf seems to be emerging. will it try to bloom, or begin a new fan?

Paphiopedilum Hisae's Royal Duck - Appears to be growing normally.

Paphiopedilum Kolosand x Angel Hair - Appears to be growing normally.

Paphiopedilum Magic Lantern - Appears to be growing normally. Leaves becoming longer and wider.

Paphiopedilum Michael Koopowitz - Appears to be growing normally.

Paphiopedilum Odette's Vision - Fan in bud has fallen victim to bacterial soft rot. Three growths have been removed and repotted, with signs of rot still progressing. Old growths repotted in fresh medium after bathing in water with bleach. Many brown spots on leaves, but not sure if these are bacterial, fungal, or sunburn.

Paphiopedilum Prime Child - Appears to be growing normally after three lovely blooms this summer.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum - Appears to be battling with bacterial rot. Have treated aggressively with ammonium chloride solution.

Paphiopedilum villosum - fan appears to be approaching maturity.

Phalaenopsis [unknown] "Big White" - Pushing a new leaf after losing two leaves to sunburn.

Phalaenopsis [unknown] "Kasey" - last year's spikes have grown new spikes or are budding.

Phalaenopsis [unknown] "Magenta Spray" - finishing a new leaf.

Vanda [Pachara Delight?] - CymMV+ - Twelve (12) spikes identified so far. Five currently in bloom.

Vanda [unknown] "Steve" - CymMV+ - lots of root growth this summer. Looking for blooms this fall.

Zygopetalum Bright Imagination 'Master Ian' - New growth pushing from newest pseudobulb. Green root tip spotted in clear pot. Suffered heat damage outside this summer.
